Item Description

A RARE and impresssive large two-sided combination sulfide rib from this famous Colorado district. Lustrous, dark metallic-gray, tetrahedral tetrahedrite crystals to a large 3.2 cm are scattered on the feldspar and quartz matrix along with numerous brassy, pyrite pyritohedrons. The large crystal cluster is certainly noteworthy on this very fine old-timer. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection, acquired in 1980 and apparently from the Al Torrey Collection. Dates to the 1920s, according to Bob's label. Hefty ore at 1907 grams or 4.2 pounds mass. A MUST for the Colorado collector.
