Item Description

Gustavite is a rare Ag-Pb-Bi sulfosalt and is extremely rare from the mines of the Julcani District. The impressive large jackstraw cluster of glassy, translucent, light gray, tabular barite crystals is good on its own merits, worht $1000 in any case as the old label states! As a bonus, it strikingly and preferentially hosts innumerable sparkly, sharp, metallic-gray, tetrahedrite microcrystals festooned with tiny, bright, metallic gustavite prisms. Valued very highly by Josef Vajdak, a noted rarities specialist, in whose collection this was in. The mounted display label is 10.2 x 5.2 cm. A must for the species or locality collector - this is a significant piece.
