Item Description

From the world famous Herodsfoot Mine, which is best known for its world class Bournonites, here we have one of the great representations from this locality knwon to have come out in the middle of the 1800s. I'm sure anybody familiar with Cornish minerals has seen the beautiful specimens of Tetrahedrite coated with brilliant golden Chalcopyrite. The small cab features silvery-grey Tetrahedrites, up to 1.4 cm, coated with almost iridescent golden Chalcopyrite. Associated are Galena crystals, all on a matrix of Quartz crystals. A fine, aesthetic classic combo. To read more about this locality, be sure to check out the stellar article in the Mineralogical Record, Volume 43, pgs 411-486. Valued $1250
