Item Description
A member of the Olivine group, this Tephroite is not a very common mineral at Wessels. The brown crystals here are prismatic in habit, incomplete, and have very good luster. The crystals range up to about .6 cm in length, and may reach .3 cm across for the larger crystals. The fractured crystals show just how gemmy and glassy the Tephroites are internally. This is more of a locality piece because of the incomplete crystals, but it is rare.
