Item Description

A member of the Olivine group, this mineral is not a very common at Wessels. The brown crystals here have superb prismatic habit - the sharpest I have seen - and good luster, and it is thought by many that the Tephroites from Wessels are best of species. The crystals in this dramatic, upright cluster range up to 1.4 cm in length, and reach about 4 mm across. An important, and quality specimen of a very rare crystallized species.
