Item Description

Tenorite is rare from Bisbee. Lustrous, black, grape-like clusters of tenorite botryoids are richly infused on all sides of the spongy, microcrystalline copper matrix. It resembles goethite, but we believe this is a rare and very rich example of tenorite on copper from the famous Copper Queen Mine. Undoubtably old-time material, but no proof. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection, whose label states that this piece came from the Lorraine Dodge Collection from Bisbee. A must for the locality or species collector.
