Item Description

A fine specimen of the highly prized sulfosalt, Tennantite, combined with a very rare sulfate, sparkly blue crystals of Orthoserpierite. The Tennantites have excellent metallic luster and gorgeous gun-metal grey-black color. The largest ranges up to about 2 cm, and many are over 1 cm. The Tennantites completely cover a matrix of crystalline Pyrite. Along with the Tennantite is the rare mineral, Orthoserpierite, which look like mini-Amazonites - and this is the only time I have seen them from this district. The Orthoserpierites make an already exceptional specimen truly unusual and superb on closer inspection, but the value is primarily for the sharp tennantites ($900-1200).
