Item Description

An impressive and unusual, distinctively different, two-sided combination rib from this noted locale. Lustrous to matte-finish tennanite/tetrahedrite epitaxically coats well-placed compound chalcopyrite crystals to 1.9 cm on the quartz crystal rib. You can see the chalcopyrite on some of the crystals. The 'B' side has fewer and smaller crystals and is richly peppered with pyrite microcrystals. Similar looking Naica material is discussed in Mineralogical Record, V. 3, # 3, 1972. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and purchased in 1972. A fine and rare two-sided specimen.
