Tennantite Subgroup (good sized crystals)

Here we have a fine and eye-catching Tennantite specimen from Tsumeb, which is regarded as one of, if not THE greatest mineral localities in the world. It should be noted that the specific species is not known, so technically it should be labeled as "Tennantite Subgroup? This piece is sculptural and three-dimensional, featuring a few tetrahedrons of dark grey-black colored Tennantite, beautifully intergrown with a bit of contrasting white to create a showy overall display specimen. The largest Tennantite crystal measures 3.7 cm across, which is very god sized for the material, not just from Tsumeb, but in general. Most of the crystals are undamaged and the piece displays wonderfully as you can see in the photos. This is a very god example of a fairly rare ore mineral at Tsumeb. Older material from this renowned locale, dating back to the 1960s-1970s era of mining. Valued around $1,500-$2,000 retail. From the collection of Brian Kosnar.
