Item Description
A sculptural and aesthetic diverging pair of Tennantite pseudomorphs after sharp Azurite blades from Tsumeb. Complete all around and pristine. The piece is nicely accented with scintillating Mimetite "needles" along with green Malachite and a few Calcite rhombs. A very rare, unusual and showy Tsumeb pseudomorph with a great associations. It's not common to have a sulfide replacing a secondary ore mineral like this, as sulfides are typically deposited first, and then minerals like Azurite and Malachite form afterwards. From the collection of Ed Ruggiero, and acquired in May 1978 from the Zweibels of Mineral Kingdom, the elite Tsumeb dealers of the time. Valued at $650.
