Tennantite ps. Azurite - very sharp crystal, of a rare classic

For Tsumeb, considered the greatest mine of all, this is a rare pseudomorph that is highly desired among colletors and yet seldom seen in any quality. Tennantite has replaced the original azurite, here, and with sharp fidelity. While most such pieces are jumbly, this presents a sharp, isolated crystal of pristine condition.  The Tennantite rises 2.3 cm above the matrix, and the form is so well-preserved that you can easily picture the original Azurite sitting there smartly. The green patina adds to the aesthetics, and the matrix has a complex mineralogy that is interesting in light of the chemical substitutions at play here. Tennantite pseudos after Azurite are RARE from Tsumeb and this is a REALLY GOOD one. Ex. Willy Israel Collection. One of the sharpest and most display-worthy we have seen, and easily valued at $2000 or so, if this were in a Tsumeb collection or at a show dealer's booth. A superb specimen for what it is!
