Item Description
Here we have a fantastic thumbnail sized specimen of Tarbuttite, which is a rare hydroxy zinc phosphate named after Percy Coventry Tarbutt, who was one of the directors of the Broken Hill Exploration Company who collected some of the first specimens at Broken Hill (now Kabwe), Zambia. This piece is an old-time specimen featuring gemmy / translucent, soft yellow colored Tarbuttite crystals forming a beautiful "flower"-like group measuring with individual crystals measuring up to 1.3 cm beautifully perched on matrix. A great rarity for species collectors with fine aesthetics and no damage that I can see with the naked eye. Priced at $1,200 retail.
