Item Description
Eyecatching light iridescence on the 1.2 cm, sharp, metallic lustre, tetragonal Tapiolite-(Fe) crystal jauntily set atop the sculptural mounded matrix of flashy pearlescent muscovite plates and quartz. Tapiolites are uncommon Fe and Mn Ta-Nb oxides found in pegmatites. This obscure pegmatite in Paraiba State has recently produced some outstanding specimens of Tapiolite-(Fe) and this is a very fine example.
