This piece is a rarely seen matrix specimen of Tanzanite featuring a sharp, lustrous, prismatic gemmy crystal of Tanzanite on unusually colored blue Prehnite matrix! The Tanzanite measures 2.0 cm, and there's actually a second smaller crystal hidden behind the bigger one. The piece The beautiful purplish-blue and yellow color zoning along with the high luster and excellent gemminess of the crystal makes for a wonderfully well-rounded specimen. Very good condition all around and just showy and pretty. As I said, matrix specimens are few and far between, and if you're in the market for a less than perfect matrix Tanzanite specimen, don't pass this one up. For what it's worth, the piece was priced in the inventory at $1500.
