This crystal is exceedingly gemmy, with glassy luster. Although it is heat -treated (a common practice among tanzanite specimens to enhance the coloration), to generate stronger coloration, it clearly exhibits two strong pleochroic colors: a deep, rich blue; and a royal intense purple. It is well formed, with a superb fancy termination. It is complete all around, and only a few small abrasions on two edges. The piece literally glows in a case because of its combination of highest luster with internal brightness that ot all have. Its gem weight is 24 grams. valued $2000
