Item Description
Tanzanite is one of the most popluar gems in the world, and fine crystals are fast becoming some of the most desireable gem crystals in the world. It is not common to find Tanzanite crystals that feature more than one color in one direction like this attractive thumbnail specimen. This piece is a beautiful, rare, bi-colored Tanzanite. It's a very gemmy, razor sharp, highly lustrous, tapered crystal with a beautiful blue color in the center and bright yellow-green zones on the outer edges. This piece exhibits decent pleochroism (purple can be seen when looking across the "b" axis) but due to the thin nature of the piece, it's not incredibly strong. From the worldwide thumbnail / miniature collection of Irv Brown. Valued at $1,500.
