Item Description
Tanzanite is one of the most popular gems in the world, and fine crystals are fast becoming some of the most desirable gem crystals / mineral specimen in the world. They are certainly among sought after minerals on the market these days. It is not common to find Tanzanite specimens that feature more than one crystal. They are almost always found in loose single crystals. I love this piece because you can clearly see the broad gemmy faces of both crystals. They are fairly thin too, so the light pours right through them, and you don’t need a lot of backlighting to see the color, like you do with thicker Tanzanites. Additionally, when the piece is rotated 90 degrees, you can see a vibrant blue color coming through the side (pleochroism), but this does require a bit of backlighting. No real damage that I can see, save the bottom where it detached from the pocket wall, but this is the case for virtually all Tanzanite crystals.
