Item Description
Tanzanite is one of the most popular gems in the world, and fine crystals are fast becoming some of the most desirable gem crystals in the world. Here we have a beautiful, sharp, lustrous, very well-formed, gemmy blue and purple color crystal group of Tanzanite. Each crystal displays wonderful steep "chisel"-shaped terminations. Most Tanzanite crystals you'll see on the market are singles, and groups like this are much rarer by a wide margin. Like nearly all Tanzanites you'll find on the market, this piece has been heated, but it's a perfectly safe an accepted practice, that actually enhances and stabilizes the color of the material. With that said, this piece still exhibits classic pleochroism (purple can be seen when looking across the "b" axis and blue along the "a" axis). Very minor imperfections can be seen, and there is a small amount of embedded Graphite on the back, but the piece is complete on all sides and looks great from every directions. A very attractive and fine quality example of one of the most popular gem crystals in the world. Specimen weight is 16.31 grams. Priced in the inventory at $3,000.
