Item Description
A colorful, partially gemmy and shapely tanzanite crystal from recent finds. The untreated crystal exhibits classic blue/purple pleochroism which can be seen by rotating the crystal 90 degrees to see the color change. The base is opaque. The frontal views of this sharp chisel-shaped crystal are a pleasing blue and the end-on views are violet-purple. The crystal is gemmy in the upper one-third. Complete all-around and pristine. A classic and excellent Merelani tanzanite. 15.35 carats or just over 3 grams. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
