Tantalite-(Mn) (ex Obodda Collection)

Item Description

Manganotantalite (now Tantalite-(Mn)) specimens from this well-known pegmatite locality are rare and seldom available. This hand sized display specimen features excellent, amazingly well-formed, prismatic crystals with lustrous prism faces and that classic almost metallic reddish-black exterior. The largest crystal measures 2.1 cm and are surrounded by fine quality, very gemmy (hard to find with this material) Quartz crystals and white bladed Albite. This is a great example of this uncommon pegmatite species from this locality. Ex Herb Obodda COLLECTION, not inventory, and valued at $2000.
