Tantalite-(Mn) ex Obodda

Item Description

Manganotantalite specimens from this well-known pegmatite locality are rare and seldom available. This excellent, well-formed, tabular crystal has a beautiful termination and sharp, tapered edges to go along with the lustrous prism faces. Most of the crystal appears to be black, but this one has a lovely internal metallic blood red color on the lustrous faces when a light is reflected inwards. Part of one edge is cleaved and the other edge has a bit of bruisig. This is a good example of this uncommon pegmatite species from this locality. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
