Tantalite-(Mn) ex Obodda

Item Description

Manganotantalite specimens from this well-known pegmatite locale are rare and are seldom on the market. These high quality well-striated, parallel-growth blades have pinacoidal terminations and sharp, tapered edges to go along with the high luster. Most of the crystal appears to be black, but the "glow" shots reveals translucent, red spots on the lustrous faces. This is an very fine and pristine example of this uncommon pegmatite species from this locale. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock and valued by Herb at $300, five or more years ago.
