Item Description

This is a single crystal of Tantalite-(Fe) from the pegmatites of Minas Gerais. The Tantalite is solid black, with an excellent luster that borders between adamantine and metallic. The crystal is contacted over about 50% of its surface, the result of growing attached to the pegmatite matrix. Where it was exposed, the faces and termination are quite good. This is a good representaive specimen for this member of the Columbite group.
