Tantalite (ex Obodda)

Item Description

This piece came labeled as coming from Shengus, and considering that Herb Obodda obtained it personally in Pakistan, I'm trusting the label. Tantalite specimens from this well-known pegmatite locality are rare and seldom available. This piece hosts excellent, lustrous, well-formed, tabular crystals which have beautiful terminations and sharp, tapered edges to go along with the lustrous prism faces. The Tantalites measure up to 9 mm, and are associated with Quartz and Albite. This is a good example of this uncommon pegmatite species from this locality. Ex Herb Obodda specimen.
