Item Description
Tamarugite is a rare hydrated sodium aluminum sulfate species, named after the Tamarugal Province of Tarapaca, Chile. This is the first specimen of this material that we've ever had to offer, and it just happens to be from the type locality. This piece features slightly translucent, off-white colored, crystals of Tamarugite on matrix with a bit of associated white Mendozite according to the label that accompanies the piece. This material is incredibly hard to find on the market these days, and if you collect minerals from the type locality, don't miss out on this one.
