Item Description
A classic and excellent old-time pseudomorph from this well-known Norway mining area in a high grade metamorphic gneiss terrain (MINDAT). Typically greasy feel and lustre talc has replaced a large, mostly euhedral 360-degree enstatite crystal. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5930 and acquired from Al McGuinness in the late 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Fine old-time pseudomorph material, seldom on the market today.
