Item Description
How often does one see specimens of Talc, let alone with such beautiful color? Vermont is perhaps not the most prolific mineral producer in the U.S., but this piece is from a find in the early 2000s that produced some very attractive and hard to find Talc specimens. This specimen has a lively mint green to sea green color which is uncommon enough, but the crystals are actually somewhat GEMMY, which is very rare in my experience with Talc specimens. You can see the piece has a somewhat vitreous luster on the exterior and slightly foliated faces. Hard to find on the market, enjoy. From the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
