Item Description

Taenite is a member of the iron-nickel group and kamacite is the nickel-rich variety of iron. Both species are generally found in meteorites. This a splendent, silvery, sculptural, melted-look nodule from the famous Canyon Diablo meteorite in Arizona. This is a very rare combination specimen from this noted locality. The base has been sawed to enhance the display quality and to showy internal crystallization of the meteorite. Ex Josef Vajdak Collection.
