Item Description
The early 1990's saw the discovery, by Terry Szenics, of an amazing small copper-rich pocket in a boulder in Chile. In honor of that find, Szenicsite was named after him. This excellent and large specimen, from the TYPE LOCALITY, contains bladed, electric-green Szenicsite up to 1.5 cm, accompanied by attractive and lustrous, botryoidal Cuprian Powellite (fluorescent). The matrix has small pockets of microcrystalline Molybdenite, and it is infused through and through with microcrystalline to massive Cuprian Smithsonite, all coming together to make a very fine combination specimen. This large display specimen is from the collection of Terry Szenics, sold to Chet Lemanski. No more is available on the market - this is long gone. And, the powellite is totally uniique as a gemmy green material easily mistaken for cuprian smithsonite, and unique to this find!
