Synchysite is a rare, rare earth carbonate and this very rare specimen is from a classic Swiss locale. Sharp, hexagonal, prisms of lustrous, translucent, orange-brown, synchysite are scattered on the matrix plate of gneiss. The sharp crystals are up to 4 mm and are large for the style for any worldwide locale. Ex Howard Belsky Collection, who paid $100 for this piece from Al McGuiness in the 1970s or 80s.
