A striking, very fine and rare, large, old-time combination specimen from the Salton Sea. Two "mountain ranges" of sharp, nearly transparent, colorless, sylvite octahedrons with a waxy luster rest on a layered matrix of tan, halite crystals. The halite fluoresces neon-orange, while the sylvite is not fluorescent. It looks purple on the photos, but is an artifact of orange fluorescence. Ex Lefont and Mullane Collections.
