Item Description

Sylvite is a stable potassium chloride, and on this specimen a second generation of sharp,totally gemmy, cubic crystals entirely cover the Sylvite matrix. The cubes, which range up to an impressive 2.3 cm, have an excellent, glassy, wet luster and very good clarity. The Sylvite even fluoresces orange. Collected in 1965, this is classic old material, but seldom seen for sale today and especially in this quality. Originally priced at $350.
