Item Description

Sylvanite, gold, silver telluride, is extremely rare from the famous and historic mines at Schneeberg. This rich and very fine specimen features several lustrous, silver-metallic crystals to 1.3 cm embedded in quartz matrix. MINDAT notes that gold is found in only this mine in the Schneeberg District. Ex Lehigh University and Howard Belsky Collections.
