Item Description

This extremely rare calcium arsenate is reported from only one mine in the world, the type locality at Jachymov (St Joachimsthal), but the label states that it's from the Lill Mine in Pribram. I'm not sure if there was a second find of this mineral or if there was a mixup with labelling, but I'm leaving Joe's location of the Lill Mine for now. The piece features small white triclinic Svenekite crystals on matrix. Best seen under the microscope, but we were able to photograph it with a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens. This is the only piece of this material that we've had to offer, and it comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
