Item Description

Svanbergite is a very rare strontium, aluminum phosphate secondary mineral. A rich 2.0 cm wide cluster of lustrous, translucent, amber rhombic crystals up to 3 mm is nicely set on the edge of matrix on this showy, rich and highly representative example from this very uncommon Nevada locale. Specimens of any variety are extremely rare from this obscure mine. Ex John White Collection of Seattle and acquired from Minerals Unlimited in 1968, according to his faded label.
