Item Description

Svanbergite is a very rare Sr-Al phosphate secondary mineral. Lustrous, translucent, rose-red crystals to at least 1.0 cm are richly clustered on the front of the large foliated ore matrix of metallic hematite and svanbergite with lustrous, straw-yellow pyrophyllite noted on the top and back. Rich and hefty ore. This is a rare and desirable old-time combination specimen, as this small iron mine was active from 1804 to 1916. Ex Ingulf Flamborn and Senckenberg Nature Museum of Frankfurt Collections. Value??
