Item Description
A fantastic association specimen from the famous Franklin Mining District in New Jersey featuring multiple species. For reference, the label accompanying the piece states that it's from the Parker Shaft specifically. First, your eye is drawn to the beautiful rich pink Rhodonite, which is associated with pale pink Sussexite, but as you look over the piece there are multiple other species present. Small tan colored Bementite can be seen along with pinkish-brown Alleghanyite, plus minor gray Willemite, black Alabandite and white to gray colored Calcite. One small vug reveals some superb, GEM QUALITY tiny crystals of glowing pink Rhodonite, which is my personal highlight on the specimen. A beautiful example of a combination of species that you could ONLY find at Franklin, which is undoubtedly one of the greatest species producing localities in the world (over 400 species have been reported from the Franklin Mining District). Franklin specimens are few and far between these days, and specimens like this are virtually impossible to find on the market, so if you're a fan of Franklin minerals or important rare East Coast classics, don't let this one get away.
