Item Description
A SUPERB small cabinet wulfenite specimen from the famous and now-closed Red Cloud Mine. This outstanding specimen is from the last hurrah of this renowned locale - the 2003 Red Gem Pocket. The gemmy and highly lustrous, red-orange blades are aesthetically scattered on the vuggy, banded quartz matrix. The large crystal is 1.6 cm and the little dimple on the top edge is a contact, with no damage, per se. I particularly like the way the 9 mm crystal is perched on the top edge of the matrix and how the major wulfenite field is strung out on the matrix. The top of the piece is a very intense field of small quartz crystals. The back has been sawed to enhance the display quality and it actually highlights the banded, vuggy nature of the matrix. This is another spiker for this auction. Fairly valued at $1750-2000. This would be a great addition for the species or locality collector.
