Item Description
Graves Mountain is the epitome of U.S. rutile locales and is arguably one the world's greatest for the species. This is a spectacular and important example from the John Ydren Collection. A 3.0 x 2.8 x 2.4 cm fabulous pair of mirror-bright, partially gemmy, deep wine-red, rutile twins is very aesthtetically perched atop sturdy gossan matrix. Rutile crystals with this luster, color and partial gemmines from this locality are very uncommon and are highly desirable. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, the partial contact on one side is out of sight on the back. A textbook and outstanding example from this noted locale. John paid $250 for this in the 1960s or 70s (a lot of money in those days!).
