Item Description
A superb and aesthetic rhodochrosite miniature from this less well-known Peru mine. Sharp, lustrous, translucent, rich bubblegum-pink rhombs are beautifully clustered on this cutie. The dramatically placed large rhomb at the top is 2.9 cm on the diagonal and has curved faces. Curved faces are rare in worldwide localities. Formerly in the Lloyd Tate Collection and illustrated in the MINDAT locality Title Page with a 2009 photo by Dan & Diana Weinrich Minerals. Ex W.S. Logan Collection # X 100-1 and illustrated on Page 36 of his 2013 self-published book, Rhodochrosite - Crystals of Drama and Nuance (available by request). Exceptional, rare 360-degree rhodo from the Santa Rita Mine and fairly valued by the former dealer at $1200. It displays beautifully without aid.
