Item Description
A stunning sliced and polished end section of a malachite stalactite from the famous copper mines of the Kolwezi area. This surreal small cabinet looks like the paw print of a multi-toed animal with a fabulous flower in the palm of the paw! The "flower petals" have superlative wavy form which highlights the dense colorful variable green banding of the stalactite. All of the paw "toes" also have fine dense multi-hued banding. Probably from 1970s or 80s finds. For the size, this is definitely one of the very finest polished stalactite slices we have offered at auction.
