Because of its association, this is certainly one of the finest and most aesthetic miniature olmiite and calcite combinations that we received from the NEW, Fall 2008 find at the famous Nchwaning II Mine of South Africa. A striking, glassy, calcite spire with fabulous, stepped-growth faces is flanked and surrounded by very glassy and gemmy, tan, elongated orthorhombic crystals of olmiite. Complete all-around and pristine. This is a superb and rare combination example from this find. Olmiite was formerly known as poldervaartite, prior to recent extensive testing.
