Item Description
The Tri-State District is renowned for fine galena specimens and this is certainly an exceptional example. A superb, cuboctahedral galena crystal with a fabulous hoppered crown and showing an amazing variety of skeletal and fortification features is jauntily perched atop a curved crescent wedge of matrix on this very aesthetic specimen. The lustrous, battleship-gray crystal is 2.6 x 2.3 cm and one side is richly peppered with sparkly, brassy, marcasite crystals. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
