Item Description
This specimen looks like a dragon to us, with a long dragon head sticking up and out at you. It is a very dramatic, 3-dimensional piece. The ropey silver wire is 7 mm thick in the "neckl" and would be just over 6 cm long if stretched out straight instead of elegantly curving over the matrix. Large, impactful pieces like this are not so common from this mine, and should be highly regarded. A piece like this might be valued fairly at $3000-3500 while a VERY SIMILAR specimen from Kongsberg in Norway could go for 3 times that amount, for no difference in look. Thus, these Peruvian silvers, when this good, are a real bargain in impactful display silver specimens. ex Dr. Eugene Sensel collection
