An aesthetic and superb matrix rhodochrosite specimen from Santa Eulalia and the famous John Barlow Collection, his # 2666. A 1.8 cm, gemmy and lustrous, rich cherry-red, scalenohedron is strikingly set in an elongate vug complimented with smaller rhodos. The matrix is hefty and very sturdy and the base has been sawed to enhance the considerable display quality. John assembled a world-class collection prior to his death in 2004 and this is an outstanding and rare matrix example. The quality is extremely high for Mexico. Valued $750-1000
