Superb Manganoan Calcite with Quartz (Meieran Coll.)

The famous mines at Dalnegorsk have produced world-class calcite specimens and this is an excellent example. This very sharp, glassy, translucent, light pink, manganoan calcite pokerchip crystal is a complete floater! The only point of attachment is on the cute rosette of quartz crystals. One point of very trivial edgewear is noted, but is certainly not a detraction to this superb combination specimen. Ex Gene Meieran Collection and comes with a former dealer label with a $275 price. This label dates the piece to the very early 1990s, when Dalnegorsk material was just starting to reach the market. Fairly valued today at $750-1000 for its unique form and quality. Super orange fluorescence!
