Superb large Wardite and Childrenite

A HUGE, important, rich and RARE wardite and childrenite combination from the famous Rapid Creek area of Canada. Lustrous, tetragonal, pseudo-octahedral wardite crystals, to 9 mm, are richly clustered in the striking elongated vug festooned with sprays of tiny childrenite needles. Wardite is a rare hydrated Na-Al-phosphate and Childrenite is an uncommon hydrated Fe-Al-phosphate. Ex Dr. Art Soregaroli Collection, who passed away in 2017. Art was a very well-known Canadian geologist, senior manager, professor and collector. He also worked at the Geological Survey of Canada. Art was the chief editor of the 2011 magnum opus on Peru minerals: Peru - Paradise of Minerals. Art probably collected this specimen. We acquired his collection several years before he died.
