Superb large Amethyst (classic SC) Chet Lemanski Coll.

Item Description

A superb and rich large specimen of glassy, lustrous, purple amethyst crystals on the quartz matrix plate from Due West. This impressive large piece has over three dozen very aesthetically clustered crystals. The sharp single point on the upper left is 3.5 cm and the doubly terminated crystal on the upper right is 6.0 cm long. The crystals spill over onto one side and the back, as a bonus. The striking doubly terminated edge amethyst is 5.7 cm long. Very nearly pristine, with only one lightly bruised edge in the interior and trivial periphery wear. Some of the finest Eastern USA amethysts have come from Due West and this is a striking and impressive large example. See the 1990 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 21, No. 3. Ex.
