A gorgeous gem, very glassy, 5.0 cm, ice-blue celestine crystal is dramatically set upright on the small cabinet matrix. The stunning limpid crystal with the textbook chisel termination is nicely complemented by the celestine crystal and crystal sections at the base. The two terminated prisms reach 2.7 cm and the imposing large angled crystal section is 5.7 cm long. This is a superb and beautifully aesthetic small cabinet matrix celestine from Sakoany. Essentially pristine, the large crystal has only a contact lower on one side, with no damage, per se. These are generally considered to be the world's most beautiful celestines. Formerly in the Federico Pezzotta Collection, as he accumulated these treasures during his many travels there. Federico is a petrologist and a curator at the Milan Natural History Museum. He is a recognized expert on Madagascar pegmatites and the rare pink Cesium-rich variety of Beryl, Pezzottaite, discovered in Madagascar, is named after him. Valued at $1500
