Superb DT Quartz on Magnesite (Leithauser Coll.)

Item Description

This is undoubtably one of the very finest and most aesthetic quartz on magnesite specimens that I have seen from Brumado. A stunning, 3.4 cm, doubly terminated, water-clear, quartz crystal is fantastically set atop a 2.7 cm glassy magnesite rhomb. Two more pristine, doubly terminated quartz crystals to 2.5 cm are also jauntily set on the magnesite crystal cluster. This superb piece looks great from either side. At first glance it look slike a gem apophyllite on calcite, from India. But it is not! An old, early Brumado piece, from a prominent German collection ( Ex Wilhelm Leithauser Collection). Valued at $500 and worth it.
